Forbidden Love is somehow related to today's society and lifestyle. Through this short film, I tried to show how from every action we take, there will be consequences we have to face. In this case, the young parents simply decided on aborting the baby at first due to insufficient funds. Though in the end, they came to a conclusion that they should send it for adoption instead and promised to take him back when they have the money to raise him. However, they did get rich after a few years and money has blinded their thoughts about their "horrible" past. They wanted to move on hence, the second child was born into the world and to them, she was a blessing. This shows the contrast to how they reacted to the birth of the first child and second child. As the film goes along, the parents do have a lot of money, until they tend to overspend it on unnecessary items.
While the parents are being like that, the two children met each other through an acquittance and fell in love with each other. The first child did not informed her that he is adopted. Therefore it did not faze her thoughts the fact that they could have been biological siblings. Later on, Syed proposed to Dania. Until one day, slowly Dania found clues that there was another child other than her, that her parents wanted to hide from her. She was confused and had no idea who to talk about with so she showed Syed the pictures and slowly from what Syed has told her about his past, she began trying to find out more about this and in the end, it was confirmed that Syed was her own biological older brother, Danial. The parents did not think through of the situation then and due to that, the present was what they have to face.
I know it is not necessary to create a DVD Cover and CD sticker for our short film but I was feeling adventurous and wanted to explore more on Photoshop therefore I made these as an exercise of "trying" to master Photoshop. It did work tho, as I finally got used to how this program works and I enjoy editing on Photoshop a lot more now since I got the hang of it already.
For our final project, we were to create a monogram based on our initials. As of my initials, it would be 'H' and 'I'. Here are a few sketches of my potential monograms (not all of them since I did not take pictures of the latest monograms I did).
(And the final monogram I chose to proceed with is this one.)
The main reason why I chose this one is because personally, I am in love with the style minimalistic and I enjoy making simple but artistic art. I think this monogram explains my style very well therefore I have made a decision to use it out of the rest.
After I had chose my monogram, I began making the 5 items requested. I chose to do on Stamp, T-shirt, Mug, Face Towel and Sticker for my chargers.
The reason why I chose to make my monogram into a stamp is because I find it convenient for my future uses. I could just stamp my monogram on paperworks or artwork that I have made to watermark it.
My monogram as a T-shirt is simple yet wearable on a daily basis.
I have always wanted to make my very own custom-made mug to keep in my room and use it to drink my favourite hot drinks while doing work. Therefore, why don't I print my monogram on the mug? One of a kind and it matches my room's overall look. Its a 2-in-1 situation as it is decorative and useful.
The next item is a face towel. I tried to challenge myself by my monogram using hand embroidery technique on a face towel. It was not easy but I managed to finish it within my very tight schedule.
It matches my bathroom and also gives it a finish look decorative look.
Materials used:
-Face towel
-Embroidery floss
-Embroidery hoop
-Thread
-Scissors
Below are a few step-by-step progress pictures I took in-between doing the hand embroidery.
(Roughly sketching out the outline of my monogram using a 2B pencil and putting it in place with embroidery hoop).

The very last item would be the stickers on my chargers. Majority of the people I know uses the same charger adapter and it can be confusing to know which one is mine and which is not. This is a solution I came out for the problem. Inputing my monogram stickers on my charger adapters will assure me that they will not get to the wrong hands.
Finally we were required to also make an A3 size poster of our monogram, making it into a decorative pattern. I chose to use only A3 size cartridge paper and gold acrylic paint I have already on hand as I do not like wasting materials and buying materials unnecessarily. It turns out really nice and I would frame this up in my room in the future.
Overall, I am happy that we receive this as our final major project for 2D Design as I could use all these items daily. It makes me think even more deeply as how I want to present myself through a simple monogram and show how I like to do my work as an artist.

Right after we have done a few pattern describing a few set of words using the black squares and creating abstract collages, we used an A2 sized tracing paper to create a whole new design based on two of the selected words from the previous work. We then explore further by changing the tools and surface. In my case, I changed from tracing paper to A3 sized transparent perspex for the surface and from Artline pen to stain glass paint for the tools. I wanted to create a stained glass effect and it was quite a challenge as I have to be patient while waiting for it to dry completely and to have a steady hand to draw the lines.
(The chosen black squares)
Overall, I am quite proud of my work and it does look like a stained glass.

Blog 6: 50-word essay - Three things I need to improve in my communication skills
Communication is one of the important life skills we can
learn—yet one we don’t usually put a lot of effort into. As for myself, the three things I need to improve on is to pronounce my sentences in a clear voice, be confident while making eye contact and to have different facial expressions.
